Logo Design Format

Having ing the right Logo file format is so important. You want your logo to look it’s best on any platform without it pixelating, loosing quality or changing colors.

PDF, (Portable Document Format)

Is a file format developed by Adobe Systems

that can be universally

downloaded and viewed

by any computer that has the Adobe Reader program. PDFs can also be saved as editable files, which is great for both designers and clients to work with.

JPG, or JPEG

Is the most commonly used image file format. It works best for images with smooth transitions between colors. You shouldn’t try to edit a JPG because you’ll lose quality every time you decompress and recompress the file. JPGs are useful when a small file size is crucial, like in your email signature.

PNG, (Portable Network Graphic)

Is an image type that's commonly used in

web design to provide a transparent background. PNGs are often used to design logos as the image can be easily placed over a background of a picture, block of color or pattern.

SVG, (Scalable Vector Graphics)

is a vector graphic format, which scales well and that's exactly what you want from a logo if your business requires large format printing (like a T-shirt,

a signboard or a sandwich board). You can modify the image in any way and it won’t lose the initial quality.

EPS, (Encapsulated PostScript)

Is the best vector logo file format for print. It’s transparent, scalable, and editable if you

have the right software. It also has unlimited color capacity. With a PNG for digital applications and an EPS for print, you can do anything you’d ever need to with your brand’s logo.
